Reservation Days 2011 Main Campus Letter
ATTENTION: Current Main Campus Residents
During Reservation Days, you will have the opportunity to reserve a space and retain your housing rate lock for the 2011-2012 academic year. Room reservations are based on available space. This letter provides crucial details regarding the Reservation Days process.
There are three large updates to the Reservation Days process:
1) Senior class level students have priority to apply in East Campus. Pay your $100.00 application deposit to Alliance Residential Company, in person, AND fill out the Reservation Days application online, February 11th through March 4th.
2) Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors will pay their $100.00 Reservation Days deposit online or at the Campus Service Center, AND fill out the Reservation Days application online, February 11th through March 4th.
3) There are two new lottery groups you can choose to be a part of when filling out your Reservation Days application:
a. Strawberry Apartment room reservations will occur March 11th. Because there are so few spaces in this building, all selections in this building will be based on a lottery system. Only Juniors (and Freshmen and Sophomores who are 21+) are able to participate, if they have completed the online application.
b. If you can fill a six person suite in North Quad, or a whole room in the Residence Halls, you can reserve before individual students, by choosing to participate in the “Fill-a-Suite/Room” lottery. You will be able to indicate participation when you complete your Reservation Days application.
How does the Lottery work? The computer will draw lottery numbers, based on everyone who paid their Reservation Days deposit and completed the online application process from February 11th through March 4th. Along with assigning a lottery number, the computer assigns a time-slot for you to login and choose a space. If you mutually request and confirm roommates in the Reservation Days online process, and get a lower lottery number than your selected roommates do, you will “pull” them into the Room/Suite that you choose.
Eligibility Criteria:
1) You must have a ZERO balance with the University and Alliance Residential Company, by March 4th. All payment extension deadlines have passed, even for financial aid award recipients. No exceptions will be made.
2) You must currently live on-campus, have an active Student Housing Academic Year License Agreement, and not be on-notice or have a pending license termination.
3) You must be currently enrolled in the minimum units to be eligible and fully enrolled for Fall 2011 by May 10, 2011 (12 undergraduates, 8 graduate students).
4) Students must agree to abide by the Student Housing Academic Year License Agreement and Community Standards.
5) Students must not have derogatory housing rental history, in order to qualify to live in East Campus.
We will post a Reservation Days Tutorial on our website as well a Reservation Days process timeline, for your review. You can also expect that we will be sending many email reminders regarding the process. One important event you will not want to miss out on will be our Reservation Days Meet and Greet, Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 8:00 pm, in the Student Center. Student Housing & Residential Life staff will be available to answer any questions you may have about the online reservation process. There will also be refreshments and a place to meet new friends and potential roommates.
We hope we have provided you with an overview of the new and improved Reservation Days 2011 process. We thank you for living on-campus and we hope you choose to continue living with us for the 2011-12 academic year!
