Resources for Finding Roommates and Rentals
Your MY CSUMB account gives you access to on campus groups through your ‘dashboard'. Below you will find directions for logging into the groups section of MY CSUMB. You may use the "Roommates on Campus" and "Roommates & Rentals Off-Campus" groups as a way to connect with other students who may be on the waitlist and to search for off campus options. You will also find a list of off campus resources below.
1. To start, go to http://my.csumb.edu
2. Click on the "Login to MY CSUMB," located on the left half of the screen
3. Sign-in using your Otter ID and password
- Your Otter ID is the first four letters of your last name and four randomly assigned digits
- For example, Jane Otter's Otter ID would be ‘Otte1234'
- You should have your Otter ID if you have registered for class before June 30, 2009
- If you do not have your Otter ID, please contact the IT Help Desk 831- 582-HELP (831-582-4357)
4. Once you have signed-in, you will be on your "Dashboard"
5. On the "Dashboard" page, click the "Groups" link on the top left.
6. On the "Groups" page, scroll down underneath the "Group Category" list to the "Residential life" link.
7. Click the on the "Residential Life" link.
8. Currently there are two groups under "Residential Life:"
- Roommates on Campus
- Roommates & Rentals off-campus
9. Please read the descriptions of both groups and join the one that fits you best
- In order to view post from group members you must also be a group member, to join follow the directions above.
10. To join a group, click the "Join" link on the right side of the page.
Once you have joined the group it will appear on your "Dashboard" under "My Groups". Click on the group name that you joined to open it and view the topics.
